How to Reach Fornillo Beach (2026 Guide)
Fornillo Beach is one of Positano’s most beautiful and peaceful coastal gems—less crowded than Spiaggia Grande, surrounded by cliffs, and dotted with charming beach clubs including Pupetto Beach Club. Here’s the updated 2025 guide on how to reach it easily from the two main access points.
1. Reaching Fornillo Beach from Spiaggia Grande (Main Beach)
This is the easiest and most scenic route, perfect if you’re already in the center of Positano.
Step-by-step:
Start from Spiaggia Grande, Positano’s main beach.
Walk to the far right side of the beach (when facing the sea).
Look for the coastal walkway that begins against the cliffside—this is the famous Sentiero degli Innamorati (Lovers’ Walk).
Follow the walkway for about 5–7 minutes.
It’s a flat path, very scenic, overlooking the sea and the Li Galli archipelago.
After a short walk, you’ll arrive directly at Fornillo Beach, where you’ll find several beach clubs including Pupetto Beach Club, Frontemare, and Da Ferdinando.
Why choose this route?
No stairs
Super panoramic
Ideal for families, beach bags, and anyone wanting an easy walkway
2. Reaching Fornillo Beach from Via Pasitea
This route is perfect if you are coming from hotels, apartments, and restaurants located in the upper and central part of Positano.
Step-by-step:
From Via Pasitea, look for signs indicating “Fornillo Beach” (usually near the Fornillo area).
You will find several pedestrian stairways leading downhill—these are typical Positano steps.
Follow the staircase all the way down.
The walk can take 7–12 minutes, depending on your starting point on Via Pasitea.
The staircase will bring you directly behind Pupetto Beach Club, right at the entrance to Fornillo Beach.
Important Notes (2026):
There are many steps, so this route is not ideal for heavy luggage or strollers.
Very convenient if your accommodation is located in:
Fornillo area, Via Pasitea, Via Fornillo, upper Positano hotels.
Which Route Should You Choose?
From the center / Spiaggia Grande: Take the easy coastal walkway.
From upper Positano or Via Pasitea: Take the stairs down to Fornillo.
Both routes are safe, well-marked, and accessible all year round.
